Benefits Sales Lead | $DOE+Commission

Our client, a dynamic and reputable provider of personal, commercial, and group benefits lines of insurance, is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Benefits Sales Lead. This position is integral to the company’s growth and success, requiring a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in selling group benefits. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of generating prospects, establishing credibility, building strong relationships, and effectively closing deals.

Additionally, this role involves significant leadership responsibilities, including managing and coaching a team of Benefits producers, influencing departmental hiring, discipline, and termination decisions, and actively engaging in cross-departmental communication and collaboration to maximize opportunities for all lines of service.

Job Responsibilities
  • Generate own prospects, network, establish credibility, and build strong relationships and pipelines.
  • Consult on business and close deals independently.
  • Manage and coach a team of Benefits producers, focusing on prospecting and selling in small to large market businesses.
  • Teach and guide on various types of funding methods.
  • Play an influential role in departmental hiring, discipline, and termination processes.
  • Actively communicate and cross-sell, creating opportunities for other departments and leveraging leads for complimentary lines of service.
  • Master cold calling, prospecting, managing a pipeline, and closing B2B deals, and then teach these skills to other producers.
  • Implement diverse sales and management methodologies effectively.
  • Focus on moving up the stream and expanding the team and business scope.
  • Aim to double the number of producers next year and double the size of the book in 5 years.
  • 10+ years of experience in Group Benefits sales.
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to manage and coach a team.
  • Expertise in self-generation of leads and building a pipeline.
  • Experience with various sales and management methodologies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedication to reporting to the office daily.
  • Stable career history with no frequent job hopping.
