Our client, a leading provider of Commercial, Group Benefits, and Personal Lines Insurance, is looking for a proficient Benefits Account Manager. This role is ideal for a professional who excels in partnering with Brokers to manage a diverse portfolio of clients.
As a Benefits Account Manager, you will play a crucial role in identifying client needs, assisting in the development of Health Benefit insurance programs, and delivering insightful proposals and presentations. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in helping clients understand and optimize their insurance coverage.
- Collaborate with Brokers to manage an assigned book of clients effectively.
- Assist clients in understanding their insurance programs and coverage needs, ensuring they have appropriate coverages.
- Recommend additional coverages as needed to meet client needs.
- Process renewals and remarket as required for additional coverages.
- Coordinate and conduct client presentations, including open enrollment meetings, benefit fairs, and renewal presentations.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry legislative and compliance issues (ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, etc.).
- Review contracts, amendments, and SPDs for accuracy; identify errors and coordinate corrections with carriers/vendors.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Group Benefit Account Manager with an independent agency.
- Oregon State Health and Life license.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings in the Portland area.
